Having recently performed at a school fair, in a field full of mud (otherwise known as Glastonbury Festival!) and in a community hall the question posed to me, where in the world would you love to perform?
Hoola hooping with The Majorettes, Soniya has been lucky enough to perform on the main stage at Camp Bestival, in a purpose built nightclub in India and on the beach in Italy. All such different experiences, but none of which suitable for our family theatre show! When visiting Cornwall back at the ripe old age of 18, she even got the chance to visit the beautiful Minack Theatre, which is definitely one of those venues we would love to perform in-Right on the beautiful sea front. Maybe not quite right for this show however...
Don't forget the more local venues-We love The Pleasance Theatre with all of it's studio spaces, and Shoreditch Town Hall with the incredible ballroom space, as well as the various underground spaces lucking inside this beautiful building. MouldEd also love taking summer trips to the Open Air Theatre in Regents Park-particularly if the sun is shining! Having seen such diverse work there, from Lord of the Flies to The Sound of Music, it's definitely one of those theatres to check out during those gorgeous summer months.
For now, however, Geometric City will be staying in schools and theatres...We don't think it's quite ready for the outdoors just yet, or big arena stages! We are looking to tour this show next year, in the less abstract venues around-So do keep up to date with all our news by following us on Facebook, or finding us on Twitter @mouldedtheatre or let us know if your school or theatre would like to book us, via our contact page!
