We hope you have had a lovely Christmas break and started 2014 as we have-Exciting prospects and lots of fun! 2014 has already been busy for MouldEd Theatre- We ran a 1st birthday party that brought us pass the parcel, musical statues and lots of jelly and cake! We've also started running our first regular after school club combining storytelling, puppetry and hula hooping. The inner child in us has been coming out!
On Saturday 25th January we went to our first Devoted and Disgruntled event, held by Improbable Theatre in London. The day was filled with creative minds, discussing all things from festivals, producers relationships with artists, unmade theatre and the now trending #I'llshowyoumine.
I think what really came out of this day is the sheer determination and drive of those in the arts who want to make their work better, who want to help those around them and who want to push themselves to be better artists. Working in the creative industry can be tricky, hard work, a balancing act and a constant struggle of financial decisions. Frequently the question did arise 'Why do we work in the arts?' Because regardless of money, (or lack of!) knock backs or doubters, for me, there is nothing more rewarding and enjoyable. The answer at Devoted and Disgruntled and I think forever in the arts will always be...Just because we love it.
