Geometric City - Tried and tested!

Phew where to start?!...this week has been officially AMAZING and we have loved every second...yes even the 2am megabus journey from London to Southampton!

I will follow in the tradition of most stories (not necessarily the good ones...!) and start at the beginning of the week...

Monday 17th March:
Monday saw MouldEd debut a 15 minute extract of Geometric City at the wonderful Theatre in the Pound scratch night at The Cockpit Theatre. We'd like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who came along to support us, as well as everyone who chatted to us, tweeted or facebooked us after the show - we really appreciate it and all of your feedback. It was such a fun evening and great to be part of a creative atmosphere where the brilliantly full audience gave positive constructive feedback to all five of the companies performing. We would recommend Theatre in the Pound for anyone who wants to show a bit of what they are working on - or a complete short piece, as it is a great way to check in with an audience to gauge their reactions.

After chatting to some really lovely people, we made our way back to the dressing room, packed up the props, scooped the hoops and set off to Victoria coach station, where our megabus coach was ready and waiting for us...this was actually a really good journey (we had plenty of sweets to keep us going, as well as the new MouldEd food combo staple: houmous and pitta!) and the seats are comfy, it was just a shame about the guy snoring rather loudly in front of us haha!

Tuesday 18th March:
We arrived in Southampton in the wee small hours and were gallantly collected by Mr Green in his snazzy set of wheels and whisked off to chez Green. After an extremely good but very short sleep, we set of on our next Geometric City adventure to Wellow School...

We couldn't have asked for a better reception than the one the Year 4 and Year 1 children at Wellow School gave us and Geometric City. The three of us (Nat, Soniya and Emily) all had a great time working with their groups - and Bridget & Cindy (the stars of Geometric City) had lots of fun too - the children even got to meet Cedric...but you'll have to come and see the full show if you want to find out who he is! Both groups of children let their imaginations have free reign; they created some brilliant maps, explorer journal entries and discovered parts of Geometric City, meeting the inhabitants along the way, including Gerald the grizzly brown bear!

Wednesday 19th and Thurs 20th...back into the rehearsal room!

Friday 21st March:
MouldEd performed a 3 minute sketch as part of the Hashtag event at Bethnal Green Working Man's club. The audience got to see a snapshot of Betty and Joan, two old frogs who live in a swamp and love to catch fat juicy flies! Ummm scrumptious! Again we loved being part of a creative crowd, there was definitely a proper variety of acts - so if you like a bit of quirky cabaret, follow @club_hastag on Twitter for info on the next event.

We have really loved our week of performances, three totally different experiences but all equally enjoyable. The rest of March and early April will see us back in the rehearsal room, so keep checking the blog, follow us on Twitter (@Mouldedtheatre) and we will let you know where next to come and find us! As always if you want to get in touch with us, please do so via the contact page.
