Belle's Kitchen

Performance Date: 23rd June 2009
Venue: Beaulieu Village School, Beaulieu

Production Information:
We performed Belle’s Kitchen for the annual Beaulieu Village Picnic. It was a beautiful sunny evening and the villagers gathered on the school field with their array of food and drink, whilst being entertained by Moulded and the village band.

Synopsis:
Belle’s Kitchen is a comic spoof sketch of a cookery demonstration. Belle is the chef, and along with her assistants Polly and Suzie (those notorious kettle putter on-ers and taker off-ers...) attempts to cook her infamous Belle Sponge cake (not Victoria’s) in front of a live audience. Needless to say, the demonstration doesn’t go quite as planned and rather too many of the ingredients end up on Belle, rather than in the bowl. A big gloopy mess is all that the culinary trio create - that and a jolly good giggle for the audience.

Moulded Theatre Company entertained the villagers of Beaulieu on the 23rd June in the School Playing Field. The three girls were a delight to watch and listen to, and the children enjoyed the slap-stick interaction in making their cakes. The girls looked every inch the part of punky cooks, and were incredibly tolerant with some children who could have taken this a trifle too far! I would certainly like to be entertained again by Moulded Theatre Company. I think all the girls have a huge amount of talent and I wish them every success in the future.
